Why a pre-audit?
In my agency, I use the SEO pre-audit in two different ways:

Commercial mode : this type of guide is very useful if you need to prepare a quote or an initial sales meeting with your prospect for an SEO service and you need to quickly assess the scope of the work.
Competitor Assessment Mode : This point can be linked to the previous one. Evaluating the strengths present in your sector of activity allows you to adjust the efforts required in terms of SEO actions.
Together, we'll look at how to get a general overview without getting too technical. This pre-audit has a simple goal: to generate an effective and simple overview of a website's SEO health.

Step 1: Determine Domain Authority
Domain authority can be measured with many SEO tools like Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and Majestic.

My opinion: I've used MajesticSEO for many years, particularly for its flagship indicator: Topical TrustFlow. Today, I'm revisiting it somewhat, as this indicator is (easily) manipulated by Black Hats.

I recommend MOZ's tool. The company has had its ups and downs in recent years, particularly with the departure of founder Rand Fishkin. But since they decided to refocus their tool on SEO, their software is simply the most comprehensive in terms of authority analysis.

Domain Authority (DA) is a score assigned to your site by Moz. This number ranges from 0 to 100. The higher the number, the more relevant your site is considered to be on a topic. Sites with higher scores rank higher. The score increases with the age of the site, its SEO strategy, and the number of relevant links. This is the most important element of an SEO strategy.
